Aqua Adventure

Go Beyond gets Wet and Wild!

17th – 24th July 2021
7th – 14th August 2021

What's to get excited about!

It’s Aqua Adventure which means Water! We will be seeing a lot of it and having a splashtastic time!

With an inspirational landscape of rugged ‘tors’ and heather clad moors, and designated a National Park in 1951, Dartmoor is without question, one of the last great wildernesses in the UK. An enormous tract of untamed, rich and diverse countryside stretching across 368 square miles. It is quite simply, unique. Unlike any other landscape in the country with its stannary towns, rushing streams, secluded villages, Dartmoor ponies, mysterious hit circles, towering granite tors, standing stones and mighty ancient woodlands just inviting us to explore. And we will. Mythical Dartmoor awaits!

Aqua Adventure

Where you'll be staying...

At the wonderful Adventure Lodge, located on the fringes of Dartmoor. A place where the primary aim is to ‘bring Dartmoor to life’ for each and every visitor and guest.

Your accommodation will be comfortable and clean… perfect for a good nights rest. Just what you’ll need after the amazing aquatic action and activity we have lined up… It’s going to be wet, wild and wonderful!

Food, glorious food!

Our regular guests will know that we put a lot of love and care into our mealtimes – whether it’s out and about or in our holiday base itself. So you will be delighted to know that the Centre offers fully equipped kitchens and excellent facilities including heated serving units, dishwashers (you’re off the hook there a Neil!) and plenty of cold storage.

And even better… we will be ably fed and watered by our very own Go Beyond Chef for the duration of your Aqua Adventure.

What you'll experience...

So we have a beautiful, scenic base from which to enjoy your amazing Go Beyond Aqua Adventure week. And what a week it’s going to be! You see Dartmoor offers so much. Incredible scenery of course. But there is more., much more. Fascinating and strangely weird geology and archeology, the historic remains of the mining industry, local folklore and legend and wildlife and flora that’s found only in this dramatic and wild wilderness.

There’s plenty to see and discover for sure but just look at your itinerary and see just what it includes. Here goes. Well, no slouching on this adventure week because we will be climbing and trekking to work up an appetite. Swinging at dizzy heights at the fantastic Go Ape Centre, and just so you won’t miss out on the wet stuff… kayaking and white water rafting.

Other activities include: raft building, gorge scrambling, canoeing and canoe camps.

I know… how on earth will we fit it all in? But we will and ensure that your Aqua Adventure is just that. In fact so much fun that you will just have to come back for more!

Accessibility and Inclusion

Inclusion is important to us so we strive, whenever possible, to make our holidays accessible to all.

Adventure Lodge is accessible and suitable for wheelchair users.

If you wish to discuss your specific access requirement for any of our holidays, please contact us at your earliest convenience and we will do everything we can to welcome you to the Go Beyond Holidays experience.

The Go Beyond and Spirit of Adventure partnership

We are very pleased to be working with Dartmoor based company Spirit of Adventure.

Spirit of Adventure was established 25 years ago and is a well-known leader in the field of providing Outdoor Education in the South West. Their location in Dartmoor National Park is an ideal base for a variety of challenging activities. Go Beyond Holidays are excited to be partnered with Spirit of Adventure as experts in providing our adventure activities.

Objectives laid out by Spirit of Adventure for our guests:

  • To provide sessions that are challenging yet accessible for a range of clients;
  • To create sessions where support staff are able support where needed yet offer appropriate independence;
  • To create a clear narrative of purpose and objective for each participant;
  • To encourage and celebrate progress and discovery;
  • To emphasise challenge by choice for each individual participant;
  • To ensure participant’s day is filled with the maximum enjoyment, fun and laughter possible.

The programme will be framed by an introduction to Spirit of Adventure staff and the activities, a clear message being given on safety and participant choice. They will then encourage a conversation around, experience, hopes and worries. This will help the team to pitch the holiday correctly and work out any differentiation in offers.

Spirit of Adventure will also suggest that guests think of something they want to achieve during their holiday, and they will create appropriate goals to aim for and celebrate during the week. The holiday will culminate in a celebration and presentation of an award (the nature of the award to be decided).

The whole week will be non-competitive and emphasise positivity and support.
