Go Beyond Breathes in Breton Culture
15th – 22nd August 2026
What's to get excited about!
One of our most popular holidays in 2025 was this lovely week in Brittany where we took a relaxing look around our stunning surroundings and embraced the more cultural side this region has to offer. Therefore, we’re again offering a similar experience, albeit with a slight change to some of the activities.
Again, we’ll be based in the small, beautiful central village of Mellionnec, where we’ll be staying in a large gite named A La Belle Etoile (Under the Stars). The gite which was renovated in 2022 was formerly an old presbytery but is now a modern, spacious auberge, situated in this small, alternative and progressive community.
So, what have we got planned for this particular holiday? Well, we’ll be diving into Breton culture with a day out at La Vallée des Saints (The Valley Of The Saints). This historic site is a land of legends and the birthplace of incredible giant sculptures - nearly 200 of them - each with their own fascinating story to tell. We’ll also be heading to the banks of the Nantes-Brest canal which boasts the striking Bon-Repos Abbey. A guided tour will tell its story as its marvellous history is unveiled. Whilst there, we’ll also take a leisurely tourist train ride along the recently rebuilt section of the Breton network. Lovely!
Not to be missed, is the weird and wonderful world of Univers du Poète Ferrailleur (The Universe of a Poet’s Junkyard), which was a huge hit with our guests in 2025. This fascinating place unlike anywhere else, features a series of automatons made from old household materials that can be activated by a series of buttons and levers.
Finally, we will be taking a short drive to a refuge for French wolves, a unique sanctuary that cares for these stunning animals
We cannot wait to welcome you on this carefully planned holiday, and we just know the places experienced will remain with you for a long time to come!

Where you'll be staying...
In the heart of Brittany is the village of Mellionnec. In the centre of this village is an auberge. This is where we will be based, in the auberge À la belle étoile, a recently renovated accommodation. It has been designed to accommodate all types of people, including summer groups like ours.
Food, glorious food!
All of our food will be lovingly prepared and cooked by our wonderful chef, Helen.
What you'll experience...
We will meet at a London airport and you will be supported on the flight to Rennes Airport in France. Our mini-buses will take you on the 1 hour 45-minute drive to the auberge.
